STRIPED HAND WOVEN FABRIC BURKINA FASO

This medium-weight, 100% cotton fabric features yellow and grey melange stripes, handwoven in Burkina Faso in collaboration with the Zoodo Association. Each strip measures just 29 centimeters in width, reflecting the traditional narrow-width weaving technique that is central to Burkinabé culture. With a rough, coarse texture, this fabric showcases the craftsmanship of local artisans and is ideal for creating garments like pagnes (wrap skirts) and boubous (loose-fitting robes). Beyond its unique aesthetic, this fabric supports the Zoodo Association’s initiative to train women in these traditional weaving methods, preserving cultural heritage while providing sustainable incomes.
