Sustainability is a core value for Lyria. The company follows a path of sustainability that aligns with its history and values, designing textiles to be timeless and modern. Founder Riccardo Bruni believes that reusing materials is the simplest way to be a good steward of the environment, creating new textiles from old or excess fabric. Lyria offers recycling and upcycling services to fashion brands that wish to utilize their leftover materials and garments. Lyria has collaborated with leading fashion designers and brands, including Alber Elbaz, Comme des Garçons, Donna Karan, Dries van Noten, Giorgio Armani, Jil Sander, Martin Margiela, Uma Wang, and Yohji Yamamoto.
In 2021, Lyria expanded into the interior design sector, launching its first collection of cushions and creating fabrics for use in private residences, yachts, boutique hotels, and other commercial projects by prominent architects and interior designers. Lyria’s commitment to sustainability extends to its production processes. The company is working to reduce and manage the use of chemicals in its textiles by implementing the 4sustainability Chemical Management Protocol for eliminating toxic and harmful substances in production through the ZDHC MRSL. This ongoing journey steadily makes Lyria’s production process cleaner with each passing year.
