Description
Inventory number ST2013 Date: 1900-1930. Twill fabric of the object. Fencing jacket made from coarse unbleached linen with a trim of ecru-colored ticking. Features a stand-up collar and long sleeves with cuffs secured by buttons at the wrists. The inside of the right sleeve is padded for reinforcement and protection. Asymmetrical button closure with thirteen buttonholes and corozo buttons (one missing) running from the neckline across the left shoulder down to the front. A fastening strap made of the same fabric extends from the front panel, passing between the legs to attach to a mother-of-pearl button on the inside of the back panel.
